Family grace

I take my kids (except for my daughter, who has an adult head of hair) to Kids' Cuts in West Reading to get their hair cut. My middle son is a bear--an absolute bear--when his hair is being cut. At nearly 5 years old, I thought that he'd be turning the corner on the crying and moaning, but no, he still makes it an absolutely miserable affair for the both of us, as well as his barber, John. So each time I get Josh's hair cut, I apologize up and down to John about how Josh acts, to the point where I asked during our last visit, "He's the worst you have, isn't he?" And to which John laughed, "Are you kidding? Not even close!" To me, well, he feels like the worst.

So I truly had to chuckle tonight as I was leaving and this mom looked at me and said, "We were the worst you ever had, weren't we?" I laughed. "Not even close!"

Though I must admit that being told at the beginning of the session that there were snakes in the yard (those of you who read my blog know how much I *love* snakes) followed by having an uninvited neighbor dog suddenly interrupt our session, pee inches away from me, and then proceed to jump in my car and lose my memory card with their session on it (found it, obviously--on the interior running board--yikes!) and then STAND (!!!) on a portrait order that I planned to drop off following their session. Now *that* may have taken the cake for the oddest thing that's happened to me during a session, but the worst? Nah. It would have taken a snake climbing in my car for it to be the worst. :)
