Session on vacation

I certainly didn't mind taking a few hours out of my vacation to do a little work when I was lucky enough to photograph such a lovely and fun family.

Happy 4th of July! It's summer vacation time!

I'm headed to the sunny shore for one week starting tomorrow--don't miss me too much while I'm gone, OK? :)

And because my dad asked when I was going to post more wedding pictures (hey, my dad reads my blog! Hi Dad! :), here are a few more of my favorites.



















Weren't they the coolest centerpieces? Trust me, Kelly and her mom had every single little detail worked out--it was just a beautiful and elegant wedding.

Three under four

Enough to make any photographer's (and woman's :) heart skip twice when they get a request for a session, but I love a good challenge, and you know how much I love photographing the toddler/preschooler years.

Just one. It's 12:52 a.m. and I'm beat, but so excited about their images. They had a beautiful, beautiful wedding, deserving of such an amazing couple. Congratulations Kelly & Drew!

My how they've grown...

I first met this family in November for a holiday mini session, and immediately loved them. I was so excited (and honored!) to meet them again for a full-length session in MUCH warmer and drier conditions today. I can't believe how much their adorable kids have grown in just 6 months' time.

Is it possible...

To have a second session in a row with girls with amazing eyes?





I wasn't sure if we were going to get any of them together as the little one definitely loved being with mom more than her sister. But at the very end of the session, voilà! (French intended. ;)

Right before Father's Day...

At the end of April, I received an email from this dad inquiring if I sold gift certificates. As we worked out details of how to get him a certificate for Mother's Day, he excitedly showed me pictures of his boys on his family blog and told me how he thought this would be the perfect gift for his wife, who really loved taking pictures of their simply adorable boys.

Truly, I was touched that he considered me for such an important day for his wife, but moreover, I was touched by how much thought he had put into selecting just the perfect gift for her.

Here's to her (hopefully!) perfect Mother's Day gift right before Father's Day.

Our excitement for the evening...

So I'm getting out of the shower, barely am dressed, and my husband's screaming from downstairs, "Jen! Get your camera! I think a hot air balloon is going to land in our backyard or crash through the trees!" Thankfully, I had my long lens already attached to my camera and caught this as they drifted (barely) above the treeline and floated out of sight...

I truly do feel blessed and incredibly thankful each day to do what I do, especially since playing working with kids and meeting their parents who seem to share so many common bonds with me is such a privilege. I exchanged a bunch of friendly emails with their mom prior to their session, so I sort of already figured it would be fun session, but little did I know that us chatting and playing with the kids would soon lead to me losing light before I had wrapped, so I'll have to be heading back next week to finish up the session.

Not that I mind in the slightest working with them again. :)
