Monkey in the middle

Sometimes, getting two 2 year olds and two babies to look forward at the same time and smile; well, nearly impossible. And since I'm not necessarily the pushy type of photographer--nor one that thinks that perfectly posed portraits are representative of real life--well, you get what you get. Personally, I like captures like this--monkey on the dad's head and all--I just hope this fun and close-knit family does as well.

A few other fun ones from the day:

Bottle of Bleach

These two had great fun running in the mud around the river, chasing geese, exploring bridges and finding great sticks. I have a feeling that their mom might be soaking their clothes in some Clorox and Zout tonight!

Beautiful in Blue

If they were any cuter, it would probably be a crime. By the way, someone's got a serious Pez adoration. Can you guess who it is?

Peek-A-Boo

Isn't she cute? Without a doubt, she's got a personality to match her cuteness, too. She's my new friend. Granted, I may not rank up there with Clifford, but I certainly tried!

Lucky baby

Today was one of those days where I felt a little bit more lucky to do my work. I adore capturing those special moments of kids growing up, but it's equally as fantastic to capture those moments right before a couple becomes a family. I remember what an exciting time it was for me and my husband with just a few days (!) to go until our due date approached, and how our every thought was filled with wonderment about how our lives were going to change, what our baby was going to look like and what it was going to be like to become a family. I loved that I got to share in that today with this amazing couple. I can assure you that inside that beautiful belly is one very lucky baby.

1½ months later...

A broken arm postponed this session that was to take place in May. Now fully healed, G looked both graceful and radiant in her First Holy Communion gown (and to answer your question, no, she doesn't take a bad picture!). Her brother's not too shabby either, eh? (And so grown up looking for 10!) I had a great time with these guys and their mom, and I'm quite glad they did such a great job making sure we--er, I--didn't run into any snakes. :)

It may be Father's Day...

...but the mom of this little cutie earned these pictures today! I truly hope she's feeling better and enjoying her ba-ba and blankie and getting some snuggles in with daddy.

New location + adorable kids = perfection

On a whim, I suggested a new location today, which I am so glad I did. These adorable kids just make the scenery even more beautiful, don't you think? (Though I think they could stand in the middle of a landfill and still make the place pretty!)

6½ pounds of pure beauty

She's my first newborn from a prior maternity session (the green polka dot one from April). I love that I got the chance to do one of these shots, but even moreso, I loved that I got to photograph her and her family. She is just stunningly gorgeous with very proud big brothers.

The before:

The after:

Non-country kids

Despite living in the midst of horse farms, bicentennial homes and on several acres of land. Even plaid sundresses won't change that. :)

Town & Country Family

Proof that a 1977 Town & Country station wagon is a perfect prop--well, at least for the family that is endeared to it.

And one sans station wagon.

A huge thanks to the B family for trusting my crazy ideas and being so agreeable! You guys were worth the drive. :)

I wish I could show the outtakes...

Because they are some of the funniest shots I have ever gotten from a session. No matter how good of a photographer you are, sometimes it's just impossible to get 4 kids under the age of 6 all sitting and looking and smiling at the same time.

But tell me, aren't these sweet enough on their own?

Time off

I don't have any sessions this weekend because it's my daughter's 6th birthday. Still, I couldn't resist sharing these of my nieces taken during her party today.

Definitely my brother's daughter!
